WELCOME FALL 2010 STUDENTS!

Hello Forte Families,

I hope the summer has been treating you all very well. We’re all very excited to start another fantastic school year here at Forte Music School. I have just a couple items I wanted to remind you all about.

FORTE FUNDAMENTALS
Any 4 or 5 year old children in your life these days? Neighbors, relatives? Our Forte Fundamentals class is a great introduction to music utilizing our very own curriculum and a fun playful environment. The best mix of education and inspiring music games sure to get young kids excited about music and prepare them for private lessons.

We are now offering a Forte Fundamentals FREE PREVIEW CLASS for new students!!! This preview will give students a chance to see what the 8 week class will be like; and parents a chance to ask the teacher any questions they may have. These preview classes are 30 minutes long, and will be held on Saturday October 23rd at 10:00am, and Saturday November 6th at 10:00am. Please call or email ahead of time to reserve your spot!

The next 8 week session of Fundamentals begins the week of November 29th, 2010.

RECITALS
As usual, we will be having 4-5 recitals available each semester again this year. Performing in front of an audience is a great way to build confidence and show off all the hard work that you’ve put into your instrument. They are very laid back and fun, so there’s no reason to be scared or shy. The first recital of the season is, as always, our Halloween recital. It’s on October 29th and you get to perform in your costume! The most popular of all of our recitals for sure.

I look forward to seeing you all again and wish you the best for the rest of the summer.

Warmly,

Eric Nordin
Director, Forte Music School

PORTLAND OPERA PRESENTS:
"Pagliacci"

Sep 30, 2010 - 7:30 pm
Oct 2, 2010 - 7:30 pm

Begin with Pagliacci—one of Opera’s most powerful punches! Canio the clown always has townsfolk chuckling as the cuckold in the traveling play. But when his wife has eyes for another man—in real life—fantasy and reality collide in a fury of passion.

And end with Carmina Burana—the triumphant celebration of life, love and lust. With its famous pounding rhythms and lyric beauty, it drives to a full-throttle finale with BodyVox dancers, singers, and chorus coming straight at you!

Sung in Italian and Latin with English translations projected above the stage.

CAST:

Nedda - Emily Pulley
Canio - Richard Crawley
Tonio - Mark Rucker
Silvio - Marian Pop

Conductor - John DeMain
Stage Director - Christopher Mattaliano

Keller Auditorium
